Bergen, Norway... Last Stop

Bergen, Norway was our last port and it was the only time that it had rained.  We were extremely fortunately with the beautiful weather we had throughout our week.  We were told that it was very unusual to have as many nice days as we did.

Enjoy these final photos...

Our journey into Bergen...

Edvard Grieg was a famous Norwegian composer... Many of us have heard his music, but not many of us know that it's his...

This is overlooking a lake... this desk is where he would write his music...

He was a tiny man... and his wife was even shorter...

This is tucked away on the property where he and his wife had lived... it is where he and his wife's remains are buried, as they were each cremated...

Looking across the lake from his desk... this white house was the only other building on the lake, other than his own home, during the time that he was alive...

A two-headed troll...

Another old, wooden church...

Everyone had to attend church... it was the law... even those who were sick and contageous with deadly diseases... they would stay outside and look through these windows...

 An old boarding school...

Time to have a cold one!.. I prefer the 'white' beers (on your left) and Carrie likes the 'blond' beers (on your right)... We also enjoyed some ice cold shrimp that were the absolute sweetest and juiciest shrimp I have ever had... they were delicious!... Sorry, we forgot to take a photo...

Seafood at the local fresh market... the variety and freshness were unreal... it all (well, almost all) looked yummy!...

Shhh, don't tell... I bought my mom a 'warm' treat for Christmas...

It was rainy and it was chilly!..

That's it for the cruise photos.  We hope you enjoyed them as much as we had enjoyed taking them!

Now sit back and relax to this Edvard Grieg song... click here... Morning Mood

Cheers!
