Last week Carrie and I had flown to Switzerland, as she had to work in Geneva for two days. Carrie has an occasional need to travel to Geneva and she has been there several times before. As for me, this was only my second trip.
Geneva is located very close to France. In fact, many people live in France and actually ride their bikes over the border and into Geneva for their work. Carrie's work had booked our "airport hotel" and, unbeknown to us, they had booked us into a hotel that was located on the other side of the airport terminal... and in France. I didn't know this when I had gotten into the empty shuttle van with the 'not-so-friendly' driver.
When the shuttle van passed over what looked like the French border I started to wonder where he was taking me, as I had thought that we were staying in a hotel located near the airport terminal. Shortly thereafter I started to really worry when I couldn't see the airport any longer, as we were driving on a road located in-between two large fields. This is when I had started to panic! I remained calm on the outside, but inside I was feverishly thinking about ways that I could 'escape' and 'fight off my abductor'!
After passing through the fields we then drove up to an area where there were a few buildings. A large sign revealed that one of these was our hotel. As soon as I saw the sign, I breathed a huge sigh of relief.... thank god!
Later that same day I went into town where I took a few photos, despite the rain. Later that evening Carrie came and joined me so that we could enjoy a nice seafood dinner together. Below are my photos.
