Copenhagen Denmark

We arrived in Copenhagen late this morning and we have already explored a portion of this interesting city.  Since our hotel room wasn't quite ready when we had checked in, we placed our luggage in the storage room and out the door we went!  Not exactly knowing where to go... we simply meandered down a few streets and quickly found ourselves snapping several photos!  These are attached below.

Tonight we will venture out again, and tomorrow we will make our way over to the port where we will leave on our 7-day cruise up through Norway.  We are so excited!

Interesting building on the outside and it's even more interesting on the inside.

There were multiple snakes (like this one) carved into the columns located just inside the front door.

This photo isn't that great, but this is a bull killing a flying sea creature.

If you look closely you will see the sea creature's head upside down and under the bull's head.

We almost walked by this carving without even seeing it.  The detail was really amazing. 
It is a wild dog 'chained' to the wall.  ...loved this carving!

Interesting things were just about everywhere we looked....

 



Yes.... this is Hans Christian Anderson.... the famous Danish author, fairy tale writer and poet.

Not exactly sure what these hooks were/are used for, but we thought they were interesting.

 



Tivoli amusement park... We heard lots of screaming as we walked by the outside...
The rides must be good ones!

Not sure how many hours it took to make this figure, but it was only one of several.

Can you imagine if they had put this many pieces in a box?!?
Who knows what we would have come up with!

We had read somewhere that this Cafe Norden had won "2012 BEST CAFE in the WORLD"...
we had to check it out!

 



My entrepreneurial mind was ablaze with ideas on how these bikes could be used back in the US
to sell items other than crepes.
