Our weekend plans were to begin by meeting Claudia and Lilly at the Alkmar cheese market. Unfortunately though, we were a little late! We had mistakenly taken the wrong train. After making the necessary corrections, we eventually and safely arrived in Alkmar where we were able to meet up with our good friend who had patiently waited for us.
The weekend was a rainy one, but we didn't let this stop us from having a great time! Bergen is a special place! It is a community that has several very nice homes, lots of great bike paths, a quaint town center, and lots of large sand dunes. We had stayed in a bed & breakfast, which is located in a beautiful neighborhood and one that is close to the seashore. It would have been fun to have bicycled up and down the meandering bike paths where we could have taken lots of photos of the unbelievably beautiful landscape, but unfortunately we will have to wait and do this on another day.
We had a great time walking the beach on Saturday with all of our dogs. Yes, Buster and Bailey had come with us. It was lots of fun to experience the beach with them. By the end of the weekend, they were both completely pooped!!!
Our weekend was great and it was so much fun to be with our friend Claudia. We laughed and laughed and laughed. It is funny how good friends, who haven't see each other in awhile, can start right back up where they had left off. It was as if something magical happened.... our weekend was absolutely fantastic!
